The Human Rights Podcast is a weekly conversation with lawyers around the world who fight to protect the human rights of their fellow citizens. Unlike other podcasts, which focus on the theory of human rights law or current events, ours tells the story of practitioners. We speak with lawyers who work in their national context, and the conversations focus on the practice of law, the frustrations and successes of the work, and the political context that the practitioners work in. We hope to provide listeners with a sense of how human rights are actually protected around the world, reflections on the tactics and strategies employed, and insight into universal issues from new (but like-hearted) viewpoints.

JIMMY practices Freedom of Information law in New York City government. Before entering the government, he worked on access to essential medicines for HIV patients, and before that conducted scientific research on the HIV virus. He is from Oakland, CA which may as well be an international flight to NYC.
